Welcome to the Bluegrass Region of Kentucky and thank you for considering Winchester for your business location. We are excited about that possibility and appreciate the opportunity to share our region and community with you.
Our downtown contains one of the most remarkable collections of late nineteenth-century commercial architecture in existence in Kentucky. Its high concentration of historic buildings and features related to its urban core tells the story of the city’s growth and development, in large part due to the railroad. Today these buildings are populated by entrepreneurs, restaurateurs, artisans, and shopkeepers who create a lively and fun atmosphere year-round. Annual community events include the Beer Cheese Festival, Daniel Boone Pioneer Festival, River Run, a Triathlon, Oktoberfest, and two concert series — Legacy Nights and Rock the Block. The Bluegrass Heritage Museum hosts monthly lectures and special exhibits and Leeds Center for the Arts hosts numerous shows throughout the year.
Located just minutes from Lexington, Winchester offers unique and original experiences. Ale-8-One, “Kentucky’s Official Soft Drink,” was founded and is still bottled here. Beer Cheese – a tangy and creamy concoction – got its start here and is celebrated throughout the year with the Beer Cheese Trail.
